Can we distinguish between a text produced by MI and one written by a human being?

We were all once enthusiastic about the innovative approach to word processing, where the software itself detects mistakes or offers word variants after just a few letters. But as time has moved on, artificial intelligence (AI) has arrived on the scene and everything that came before seems like a flower. Now all you have to do is feed ideas into a tool like ChatGPT, and the AI generates text almost as successfully as a human mind would. But how to tell who the real author of the text is? Here are 5 things to look out for!

Sentence length 

Sentences in human writing are usually of different lengths. They can be very long or very short. Artificial intelligence, on the other hand, follows the principle of balance, so sentences will be similar in length, with a similar number of words. All to make a visually appealing view. 

Originality of language

The text that makes up the MI consists of commonly used word combinations. One does not think about it and writes by feeling and experience. A person may use new means of figurative expression, while the MI will be selected from the available database, which, although extensive, is limited. Such a text may therefore lack originality and may even appear to have been read somewhere before. 

Emotionality

It is clear that MI is not wrong, it is accurate in everything, on every subject content and style consequences. This is one decent excellent man with always the right opinion, true, sometimes it even makes statements so misleading that it is clear to any reader that they are nonsense. And don't expect emotional depth or empathy in an MI-generated text.

In contrast, a person who is unfortunately or fortunately prone to making mistakes tends to weave his own feelings, emotions and thoughts into his text. Figuratively speaking, a person draws and polishes his text like an artist a painting, while MI makes the entire surface of the work equally smooth. But in the field of colloquial language, MI is practically powerless, because such a text has a completely different style.

Contextual extension

I am always delighted by writing that evokes emotions in the reader. These can be anecdotes, personal experiences or other digressions. This helps the author and the reader to be on the same wavelength. Unfortunately, this nut is too hard for MI, because the texts it produces are strictly structured, precise, without any contextual digressions. You won't find subtext, defaults and the possibility to read between the lines. Everything will be direct and concise.

Uniqueness in handwriting

Each writer has his or her own original handwriting. We are different in life too. One is fascinated by epithets, another likes to enhance the story by deviating from the main text, bringing in his personal experience. MI cannot compete here, because its content is rather a compilation of different articles without its own raisins and imagination.

Some might see AI as a bane to humans, but if we use it for the right purposes as an assistant, the synergy between human emotions and the capabilities of AI will be of enormous value. The wheel does not have to be reinvented to explain simple things, and this is where AI can be very useful. But human emotionality is indispensable for adding vitality and empathy.
